FEEDING THE HUNGRY CHILDREN OF GOD

Seeing a critical need for a hot meal program (soup kitchen), St. John's Lutheran Church started serving free lunches in their basement in 1986. The nonprofit, Christ's Table, was formed and was at the church 1986-1991. The need grew and so did the need for space. In 1991, this building, where we are currently located, was purchased. We have continued to grow, all thanks to the support of this amazing community!

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic has altered a lot of things for a lot of nonprofits, we had to cancel our 2020-2023 Canister drives. We usually have one in May and one in October each year. These last few years have definitely been a struggle with added costs and less fundraising. We are hoping we will be able to hold our Canister Drives as usual in the upcoming year.  

We appreciate all of the love, support, and prayers the community has given us and those we serve during this struggle. If it was not for the support of our wonderful community we would not be able to provide these free lunches.

We have been able to continue to feed hot nutritious meals . Since the pandemic we have seen our numbers increase every year. 

 In 2024, we served 109,415 meals. There was an even bigger increase in 2025, as we served 115,845 meals. 

As of the end of May, we have served  46,348 meals in 2026. So, the last couple of years we have been busy, busy, busy! This amazing community of ours has supported us every step of the way. We truly thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts! We hope that support will continue on!
